O.K. here is the deal. I have looked through a bunch of the recruting threads and they still do not answer some questions I have. So here they are.

I am starting my sophmore year in 2 weeks. I am starting to think more and more about college, and getting recruited. I am one of the better players on my team and I am just starting to do everything I can to get better. (work out every day, shoot & do FO's everyday) I am almost deadset on going to University of Delaware.

I have some questions about trying to get recruited.

1) I am going to camp at UDel next summer. Will this help? Should I try to talk to coaches?
2) What do I need to do to show that I am super interested in getting recruited? Letters? E-mail? ???
3) What else can I do to get noticed???

Even if I do not get recruited. I still really want to go to UDel.

1) What are my chances as a walk-on?
2) Will I ever play as a walk-on?

You do not know how much I appreciate it if you can help. Thank you very much!!!:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

EDIT: I am not picking them just because I want to play lax there. I really want to do Aerospace engineering as my major and UDel seems like the best bet.

1. yes going to the camp will help, its not the difference maker in you getting
recruited or not but it def. doesnt hurt to show up and put on a good show. i would also email the coaches and tell them a lil about yourself (just the basics, coaches dont wana read a whole novel about you specially if your only going to be a soph) and let them know that you will be attending the camp

2.email the coaches and tell them some of the basics, height, weight, stats and such, but keep in mind your still very young

only can really answer those but im sure there are some others out there that will be able to reply much better with detail then i

1. Yes, it will most definitely help going to the camp. It will help the coaches get a good idea of who you are and shows that you're interested. Not to mention you also get a good idea of the team, the way the coach coaches and how the campus feels. Before the camp I would email the coaches and explain who you are and you high interest in UD.

2. Yes, e-mails and letters are the way to go. Check out the thread called "all about letters" for what to write in them. Since they're you're number one choice, I would come out and even state that they're your top choice.

3. Emailing/contacting the coach and going to the camp are an extremely good start to getting noticed. Besides that, you'll also want to make sure your skills are supreme and if possible, get some good awards/honors by the end of this upcoming season. Being in the paper and having your name get out there through coaches, club coaches and other connected people also helps a lot. Also make sure you have the grades to get in there. The less the coach has to do to get you there, the more appealing to him you'll be as a recruit.

1. Walking on varies at every school. Your best bet would be to email the head coach and as soon as you've been accepted into the school, figure out how UD handles their walk-on process. There's a thread on this too I believe which you might want to check out.

2. If you're good enough to play, they'll play you. Coaches usually don't hold back walk-ons because they're not on scholarship or anything, usually they're just not up to par with the skill of the other players. If you have the skill though, you could be seeing playing time. It's really not something someone can guess though, it's all about how good you actually are and if the team can use you.

speaking of Aero Space- why not a school in your backyard- Georgia Tech.
I would imagine their Aero Space is great and in state for you. If your dream of getting an aero space degree and playing college lacrosse that might be a great combo. Playing varsity sports is a very big drain on time and with a major like aero space sounds like academics might need to be in the forefront of your decision. With GT you can play some good lacrosse as well. very organized program with good coaches and a solid reputation
just my 2 cents. you seem to be an ideal candidate for the MCLA scene.
