Need some advice.. (rant)

okay so the beginning of this summer my neighbor started playing lacrosse and started really getting into it. Okay so rewing to the beginning of the summer.. he signed up for a camp and he had no pads or anything so I lent him a helmet gloves shoulderpads elbow pads and a stick. So hes doin the camp and the top string ripped so he asked me to fix it, so okay no big deal i have a spool of crosslace and some extra hard mesh. I string him up a great pocket. a few days later he came over, he and his friends were throwing smoke bombs at each other with their lacrosse sticks. Great now the mesh is ruined the head is multi colored and melted, so he says Can you fix it? are you friggin kidding me! So i also have a backyard goal and big bucket of balls probably 15 or so. I said he could practice shooting if he wanted, just make sure he finds all the balls when he's done, i go out the two weeks ago and there are 7 balls left! so the day after that his family buys me a brand new case of 10 balls for my birthday and for being so generous and helping him out. so i go out last week and 4 of the new ones are left! so now im really starting to get annoyed so i go and talk to him and he says, well we bought you the new balls so i dont have to find them, the nerve! i was so mad i just left, i looked for 10 minutes and i found 7 balls, only to be lost the next day. Now fast foward to last weekend evidently he was at his cousins house and he told his cousin i could string any kind of stick he wanted for free so his cousin shows up at my house today and actually expects me to string one for him. i told him i would string it for 15 dollars because i didn't know him and i had to pay with my money for all the mesh and string i have. THE NERVE OF THIS KID! Now i dont want to discourage my neighbor from playing lacrosse saying you cant use my balls because you'll lose them, and i want my stuff back because you'll ruin it. what do i do? im about to start getting reallly mad

dont give the kid anything. Is he your best friend? if not just take the balls in aftfer you use them and take all your stuff back. The kid is a jerk

CT is spot on. tell him that you arent going to lend him any more of your stuff because he isnt taking care of it. if he wants to trash stuff, break stuff and lose lax balls he's going to have to do it with stuff he or his parents buy.

i was going to say that, but it would ruin the thread. As said earlier i would take the stuff back, or string his stick for him and put a ton of whip, so much that he cant fix it and than take your stuff back

he's 13 he'll be in eigth grade next year and he really needs to grow up if he wants any chance of being on the school team. he told me he got them from a little flea market but i dont really believe him.

tell his parents about the smoke bombs and dont give and even 3 balls. make him buy his own stuff if he is going to abuse it

leave one ball outside, so he can still play, but if he loses it he has to go find it if he wants to continue shooting

thanks for the ideas guys, i'll talk to his parents tomorrow, he can do whatever the hell he pleases to his own stuff but when he ruins my things that i spend my money on it gets personal. i'll talk to his parents tomorrow and update you guys

And tell him that lacrosse is an expensive sport and if he has to start buying his own equipment instead of using others, then he will realize that. (don't tell him directly, but just let him figure out that you are talking about yourself)
And if that still doesn't work then throw a rock at him every time he walks out of his door.

dude theyre smoke bombs, all they do is well smoke up in different colors. ive never heard of anyone being harmed by a smoke bomb. although i do think its retarded to throw them with lacrosse sticks.

just tell him your stuff broke and you need your old stuff back

your neighbor is a complete jerk and pretty stupid. most kids have a little common sense by age 13 (at least enough to tell them not to throw smoke bombs). also, did he return the rest of your equipment in decent condition?
