Well it is a Latin proverb, so changing it to english wouldn't make much sense. Plus, english is boring. I like the fact that Latin was spoken by what is probably the most dominant society to ever live.

on one arm im gonna get the iwo jima memorial with a large american flag in the background, with either "semper fi", "freedom isn't free" or some other inspirational phrase over and under it, perhaps latin if i find something

on the other arm im gonna get some type of cross, something nice

I always called my grandpa pops. Me and him were really close to. We would go to the drivers range all the time and do tons of cool stuff. Sense my dad always lived so far away, he pretty much played that role. The day he died was probably the worst day of my life. He had bone marrow cancer. The day after he died, I was sitting outside when a green and yellow parakeet flew on top of my head. I got on my finger and I tried to shew him away. He wouldn't go. He actually jumped on my shoulder and stayed there for hours as I tried to figure out what to do. My mom took me to pet co and I got some bird stuff. When my mom asked me his name, I said pops. He lived for 5 years. He was already an old bird when he found me. He could talk a little bit and do all kind of tricks.

The freaky thing is he died on the same day my grandpa died, just 5 years later.

To be entirely honest, I like my girls uninked, unpierced, but ones that I have seen that I didn't mind was one done right below the hairline on the nape, and one very simple, subtle latin word below the nape across the middle of the back. Feet are really the only other place, and even then those are generic.

getting your social security number tatooed on you wouldnt be a very smart idea. anybody could see it, and steal your identity very easily. even if you got it in a spot that nobody would ever see, like your inner thigh, your girlfriend could still see or anyone you sleep with, and steal your identity.
I would hope you'd be a little more prudent than to sleep with someone who would steal your identity. Or at the very least, remember their name. Besides, even for as much time as you think they spend down their, I don't think there is a good chance for someone to memorize your social in this context.

Simple, yet elegant. Do a little research before you rip on someone. It represents my studies, my fellow students with whom I have very close bond and my professor who happens to be one of the most influential people in my life. He was very impressed when I told him.

Wow. I really like it. For me a tattoo has to have meaning. It shouldn't just be a symbol or some cool design, it should reflect something that the person really is passionate about. I love the simple conflict that Catullus portrays. Seriously great choice.

Me personally. I am un-inked, and shall remain at least for awhile. My parents have said they will not pay for my college if I get a tattoo. Besides I don't know what I would want.

The exact reason I'm getting one. I've had 2 years of figuring out if this is what I really want (I always had the same design though). And obviously I want this tattoo very badly.

My tattoo will be a monument to my friends who I've lost at too young an age (it still hasn't sunk in that my buddies are gone forever and the only time I can see them is staring at a stone or in my dreams) and also for family members who I've lost but I will never forget or stop missing.

I sure do hope there is a heaven...

My cousin got one of a globe on her back, every country she went to she got it the country filled in with a different color. Now mostly all of Europe is colored in.
My other cousin got a lizard on his left coalerbone (around there), then he got married and in Tahiti (however you spell it) he got the lizard outlined with his wifes name in its scales. Thought that was pretty cool.

It all depends on the person, i personally think tattoos feel good but i also have a very high pain tolerance compared to most people. Ive seen big buff guys get a tattoo on their arms and start crying and ive seen a skinny girl get her entire ribcage done and smile the entire time. Also location will add to pain, the arms dont hurt, but the ribcage and on your chest will.

I plan on getting USMC in a banner with "For God, For Country, For Corps" written under it and it will be placed under my collarbone and the pockets of my shoulders there will be two Eagle Globe and Anchors holding the banner on each side. It will be expensive and most likely very painful

i got my bayside tattoo on my back and when they hit the bone, i flinched but it doesnt hurt that bad. Unless you get it on a place like your ribs, or under your collarbone like im going to it shouldnt really hurt all that bad.

As for some commentary regarding the thread. Girls with tats are fine, don't listen to people who say otherwise. Just don't do the tramp stamp or something that'll stretch if/when you get preggers. Agreed. I have a couple buddies who have their last name tatted across their back (hockey jersey style) and one who has his last name vertically down his ribcage (from the armpit down to his waistline). That one actually looks pretty cool.
