well first talk to your school's coach and the kids that play for your school and kinda get to know them but yea talk to the coach and get info that you need, your gonna need to get gear also if you dont have any so again ask your coach about where you can get some and ask the teammates if they have any hand-me-downs because its expensive, then see wen you can start up and play and dont ever miss a practice! and a good thing to do is practice by yourself alot because kids that just start out need all the practice they can get so go ahead and get the basics down before you take the field so go put a 2x2 or w/e size of box you need and tape that dimension on to a wall and try to throw and hit inside the box every time and just work on passing and catching and cradling

What do ya mean by that?
Maybe youre not cradling right.
Please explain.
Also look at the tips thread and the dodging and many stickies on improving and developing your game.

it rises up to about where the strings on my head. thats what you call the top part of the stick right?

Do you mean like the ball slips out and goes toward where the top of the mesh attaches to the head? The topstring area. Well I think your pocket is maybe really shallow and your mesh or pocket might not have a lot of hold.
How are you cradling?

Is the ball keeping with the momentum of the head and staying in the pocket in a smooth motion.
So tha ball falls out when your cradling?
Is your pocket deep having an are where the ball sits?

What head are you using?
It may be the factory mesh that only streches when you cradle and doesnt for a good pocket.

im thinking its a new stick and doesnt have a good pocket made yet cause factory stringing isnt good but yea just work in a pocket and every night until you have the pocket you want put i butter knife in there with a ball

Yea its a wide head so the pocket isnt too big. Strech the mesh some for now like klein said. If you dont like the mesh I suggest learning how to string your own head. Get a mesh kit at a store and look at the several tuts on this site and the instructions that come with the kit. For a mesh kit I suggest Warrior because they have the best mesh other than Jimalax.

this might work, try getting real good at face offs because every team needs one. even if you just run off after you are still helping your team out. besides that practice non stop
