I sure can't find it here or anywhere...
Does anyone have a non-slip knot or technique (or a link) that will prevent me from having to cut a slot in the bottom of the leather on a traditional string job???

do a double interlocked knot and then then a regular knot on that that same string right after the knot.
confusing?

I usually do a double, interlocked knot and then I put a zip tie around the leather and xlace so it's right up against the last knot. Then I just tie a knot in the xlace right below the zip tie so it doesn't come loose.

at the very bottom of kryptics pita tutorial is a way that works when he ties off the inner leathers or just a double interlocking knot like lilaxgurl said works aswell

you can tie it as if you had cut it, but then just put a small zip tie right above it. It works just as good as cutting the leather, and is much easiet.

for the bottom i just pull out the leather, put the nylon in, cut it, then take the rest of the nylon tie it off and string back out the hole, then follow with the leather.

So, at the risk of a slight threadjack, what do you do with the 'tails' of the leathers? cut them, tie them off?

tie them around the throat of the head

on thing i do, especially for pitas, is to pull the nylons through the bottom stringing holes, or the sidewall holes depending on where they end. this prevent the pocket from moving even though the leathers stretch out.

on e-lax's trad tut they said a ziptie works fine (and it did for me as well)
