Proton Power Stinging Woes!

I recently recieved a pp in a trade and had the sudden urdge to re-string it. It was previously strung with a very deep low pocket, and i wanted to try a higher pocket over the summer. When ever i tried to re-string the pp i either got one of two things, 1) a very tight channel so the ball was not releasing properly or 2) a lopsided/odd shaped channel. I am planing on checking the mesh tutorials again, but first i wanted to see if anyone had any tips or examples of pp's they've strung. PS: im working on pics and i have reg. 10d

between the fourth and fifth sidewall hole counting form the top, counting every hole, double up. it will give you a less tight channel and if you do the same on both sides it will be and even channel

Yea I keep stringing my pp with 10d and the pocket never came out how I liked it. The bottom holes are a bother. Usually what I try turn out have an illegal pocket. So I recently tried 8d with hight pocket and it worked great. Tons of hold and great feel and shoots. But I still can figure out how to make a good pocket with 10d.

So I guess im going to use 8d and I like it more. I tried teh pic in oranges tut where he had the lime green pp with the sidewalls done well. But it came out illegal and not to my preferance.

Try that, I got a high pocket with the orange tut.

In both of my proton powers, my pocket channel came out lopsided and when I looked at it, it just seemed weird. My other pockets all came out beautys, but on a pp, I don't know!

LaxDman62- that sounds like a great idea conisdering its summer and the pp is my back up, so i just use 8d and foll which tutorial, unless there is an 8d tutorial.
lax@wwu21- that happened to me all the time and it got really annoying so i just stopped trying to string it.

Abyone else have this problem and i would like to see some pics, please

i recently strung my friends PP (srry no pics) and i used oranges interlocking ft. double up tutorial adn it came out fine.

If you have 10d right now try the tut made by orange, its one of the two. At the very bottom of his post with the tut theres pics of a pocket he did on a pp, lime gren mesh. Try to do those sidewalls. Use 10d for that. Its interelocking with doubling up I think. I liked the pocket but the depth came out illegal for me. I only use legal sticks. I was having trouble because of the bottom string. Also search for stuff like proton power sidewall and strung pp to find pics that would work and make a pocket you like and string it that way.


Now I can string a good 10d pocket in the pp but after I used 8d for a high pocket I wont go back.

A high to mid pocket on the pp is sick since it has a nice cradle and has great hold.

the pp is designed to have a high pocket...foward cant system? is that what it is called ( the ad with the 2 balls in the pocket)...anyway...i have 2 pps and i just strung em up with 10 d and 7 d...the 7d is really nice and was simple to do...came out just like i wanted it, but the 10 d took me a while to get it right...but i tripled up and than doubled up and the pockets got a nice chanel and throws beautiful

Thanks for the help guys, it looks like i will be trying some 8d and interlocking, ill try to take pics when im done
