how fast do you go through equipment

ok im going to 8th grade and this will be my fourth year playing and i was wondering how fast do you guys go through equipment

gloves im still growing and i need a new bigger pair every year

ap every year cause i lose one and i get cheap ones

sp still have the same ones i started with

rib pads still have the same ones i started with

sticks every other year

helment same one i stated with

gloves every year cause of ripped palms
aps every other year...my vent aps ripped so i got supercrosse pros
sps...this year got davincis...but before that i had the same pair for 2 years
rib pads...never owned them
sticks...idk i usually find ways to get new ones (trades, ect)
helmet...if im playing for a different team ill get a new one

well im going into high school (was just in 8th grade) ya your growing but stuff only gets so big

gloves i have size 13 and hopefully i wont out grow those because i havent ever seen bigger so i would say try on a size 13 and if there a good fit (witch at our age they should) and get a good pair

SP if you want to buy a good pair and have them last longer get a size to large and do the crisscross if you dont know what that is i will take a pic of it in a second.

AP not much you can do about those to make them last longer

rib pads never had them

sticks you cant out grow so find one that you really like and invest in it or if your a rough player and break them alot ( at our level you dont break them to often) then find a lower priced one you like and use it untill some company stops being cheap and makes a really durable stick (like the f15) and get that

as for helmet cant really help you not to much those need to be bought over and over untill your fully grown

how often i go through gear:

gloves new ones ever other year so far

AP had 2 in 6 years

SP 2 in 6 years

rib pads never had um

sticks broken 3 in 6 years and i have 6 right now

helmets broke 2 last year and then ihave had 2 others but out grew them so 5 so far and getting another next year for new school

I don't understand how you could be on your fourth pair of APs in only two years. I am on my second through two years, but only because I wanted to upgrade.

But I still have the same SPs from when I started, I have been supplied a helmet in all leagues, I am on my second pair of gloves (only because I wanted to upgrade), but I have had a bunch of sticks. That's only because I buy/sell/trade them a lot.

lets see ive been playing for 4-5 years...ive had:

-3 pairs of gloves
-3 pairs of arm pads
-2 pairs of shoulder pairs
-1 helmet
-about 8 heads, probably more i cant remember em all
-7 shafts
-3-4 pairs of cleats

helmet - grew out of one, cpx = one size fits all
shaft - only when i get bored with me current one or i sell one (i have three)
heads - i have like five - usually break one/ruin one every other year/season

I've only been playing for 2 years but heres what I go through.
Gloves-had mine for two years and am getting new ones
Ap's-Had a crappy pair my first year so i bought a new pair which I am expecting to last another two years because there isn't much waer on them
Sp's-used for 2 or more years before me and I am going to use them for another year or two
Rib Pads-Don't wear them
Helmets-I'm on my second one only because my first one was too small when I got it but it was $25 I used one for 1 year and will keep it 1 or more years
Sticks-2 years

Equipment can last a long time. I have a chest protecter that I got from my buddy he used it for four years before he gave it to me, and Iv used it for six years. Also can I ask how many of you got new helmets cause you moved up from jv to varsity or a new team, or team gloves that just change every year. After six years I have used two chest protecters three pairs of gloves (two team) and three helmets(two moving up through high and one for my college club).

I've used my Mac Daddies for 3 years now. they have some rips and wear but they are so broken in, i'll use them until the palm disinegrates

i used my old Hitman Sp's for 3 years, but i switched to Glad liners cause i don't need that much proitection, but they still had atleast 4 more years left

i got new supercrosse slip on's this season, cause the trident AP's i was useing were falling apart

and i've had my CPX for 4 years, but the chromainum face mask is rusting pretty bad, so i'm gonna buy a new on this fall

2 pairs a year? your a disgrace. might as well throw your money out the window and take a dump on it.(not in that order exactly.)

I started playing my freshman year, and now im goin into my senior year.

AP: i have had 3 pairs. mostly upgrading. not growing too big.
SP: same ones i started with.
Gloves: started with hypno's, and upgraded to Mac Daddys.
Helmet: started with a stryke, then when that got to small i got a CPX.
Stick: i bend a shaft a year. mostly dents tho. cause i have a Titan pro, SC21, STX Ti, and an 803.

on the helmet, i suggest getting a CPX and just changing out the sizing pads when your head grows. or a Triumph.

your hands should fit in 13's. if not, get 12inch hypnos.

Sp's i need new ones because i cracked the shoulder cap on mine hitting someone. No Rib Pads. Stick every...whenever it Breaks. no need to change a good thing haha.

the way i do gear is simple i go to the manager ( i skip all the teens behind the counters who know nothing) and i look him in the face and say i want stuff thats gana last, work well, and is dang sexy. i tell him i dont wana do this every 6 months so show me what you got for good stuff. o and flashing CASH dosent hurt lol. but i have played for 6 years and have to pay for every thing myself my parents dont support my lacrosse problems lol.

If you know which equipment is nice, you shouldn't have to do that... Especially if you've played for 6 years.

Stick: 2 years and going strong. I have to buy box gloves this comming season as my last ones were returned to the school.
CP: always borrowed one from the school. Planning on getting a CP if my univeristy has a team.
gloves: 2 years and going strong. Has some small rips but they still work beautifully
Helmet: Just bought my first lax helmet in the begining of this season. I always used a borrowed hockey helmet.
