Basically, yes, the recruiting starts as early as sophomore year. Even before then, coaches start eying players, albeit nothing serious really happens
then what dose this mean?

means you cannot really get noticed as a freshman. As an incoming frosh, be sure to do well academically, and work on honing your skills.
Make sure you understand your game plan....Offenses/Defenses.
Work on both your hands as far as stick skills go.
Shoot/Dodge/etc.
Work on accuracy first, then speed
Conditioning get into shape.
Assuming you can do all these, and do it well, you will be in a decent position to begin the recruiting process as a sophomore. They key is to stay motivated and continue to try and get better. Attend camps, and play as often as possible
But the 2 main things you need are: Do well in school, and Have fun

......and make varsity and make a U-17 summer team if you want to get seriously looked at as a freshman.

Theres only one way you can get noticed as a freshman. You make varsity, start, and put up numbers. Look at the kid from west islip hes nasty.

Do alot of people play at good lax colleges?? cause I'm a goalie and my older bro plays for VMI but he says you have to be amazing to play for like UVA, Maryland or UNC which is the schools I wanna go to but he also said that he sees great potential in me and it's all about how hard I work and how bad I want it

i know a guy from maryland and the fact of the matter is there lax is bigger than any sport in that state. he was brought up there and he said he touched his first stick at the age of 4 and loves the sport ever scince. in maryland lacrosse is not a sport its a religion, and a life style. so yes i know you have to be good at lax to get recrutied there because they take that sport extreamly seriously there.

dude dont worry about it just work hard in school and work hard in the off season. Do cross training stuff like cross country for example. Dont be lazy and play video games all day once you finish your homework go play lacrosse with some friends. My freshmen year i went out with two of our Varsity Captains everyday to get better and that worked for me cause my goalie coached talked about me to the D3 school he played for and their already interested and me and that was only last year. So my advice is just try your best play a heck of a lot of wall ball, shoot, play lacrosse with your friends, do anything that will make you better. Also do a lot of research on cross training activities to make you better. For example jump roping for goalies is really good because it makes your nural (haha i cant spell) nervers in you legs and arms more active and quicker thus making you make quicker saves.
