ok so im lookin to get a new shaft and its between a db803 and the ice. I know the only real difference is the grip on the ice. So if someone could please explain what the grip on the ice is like that would really help me. also people who have the ice tell me if you used tape.

I have an ice, i loved the grip, no need for tape. It had a good grip and it was the lightest shaft ive ever used. And with all that i will say that i hate this shaft. It is so weak, mine is nothing but dents. I am just hoping it will break before christmas so i can take it back under warentee. I have used mine for one freshman season and its all dents. Do not get this, but i would recommend the db803, a lot of my friends have those and they arent to badly dented.

ADK, any durability issues you have with the ice you'll have the same with the classic db03, same metal, same wall thickness.

dents aren't something to be worried about much...Ti's dent easily but they won't snap or bend very easily

the db803 and ice are very nice shafts and should last awhile

the ice looks cooler but my regular 803 still has great grip, its a flipping the coin kind of thing

itsthatkid, yeah i totally agree with you, but im just saying this isnt the shaft for me. I am a big middie who does a lot of checking and hitting, i need a shaft that can give/recieve checks that wont dent easily. Tomorow ill take some pics of my ice just to show how ridiculous the amount of dents on it

They are both pretty similar, except for the grip. My Ice goalie dented a lot just tapping the posts, and my friends 803 dents like crazy. Honestly, get the Anarchy because it is extremely light, and has thicker walls so it wont dent as easily. Plus, you won't have to use tape on that shaft either.

just answer his freakin question people

the grip on the regular 803 is kindof gritty and rough right?

well the grip on the ice is not like that at all. its kindof like a glossy smooth grip. not my taste of grip but hey, i got mine for free. id rather have a regular 803.
