I want to updated my computer with 1gb of ram but it still has a 64mb on board graphics processor and I think thats just a tad outdated =P. Anyone know a good site to get a cheap 256mb apg one? Or anybody has suggestions on what to buy? (Hehehe can't wait to play FEAR COMBAT and WoW cracked servers =P)

So far I looked at newegg, tigerdirect, and ebay and ebay looks the cheapest but theres only a handful at a time and im not patient.

get a geforce 7800GS if you can. that AGP bus is really limiting your options, though...

Get an ATI. They are very nice graphics cards. More bang for you buck over the Nvidia Chips.

i believe you are saying you have an integrated graphics card, and if that is correct you will need a new motherboard as well.

not necessarily if there's an AGP slot on his motherboard, which i'm guessing there is since he said to make AGP graphics card suggestions.

and nVidia holds a HUGE performance delta over ATi ever since they came out with the geforce 7 series. ATi basically gave up, got sold to AMD, and started making products for just the mainstream market and are no longer targeting the ultra high-end. their latest, the Radeon 2900XT, which i have, is a good product, but can only come anywhere close to nVidia's best, the geforce 8800 ultra, if you have two of them in crossfire mode. two radeon 2900XT's equal a single geforce 8800 ultra (the 2 2900XT's are a bit better, but not by much), which isn't saying much seeing as how you could potentially have two 8800 ultra's in SLi. then again, the price tags on both of them are basically proportional to their performance, so it evens out.

I have a really crappy 64mb integrated chip, im just looking for a decent 256mb chip that would replace it that would allow me to play some of the newer games at low-medium quality.

Looking to under go the 80 dollar mark and the cheapest I found were
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130233 - 6200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814127290 - 6200LE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814131014 - FX5500

Anyone know difference between the Non le and the LE?

Im also bidding on some 6600's on ebay for around 50.

Here are my system specs

A420N Hp Pavilion
1GB Ram
AMD 3000+ (2.16 GHZ)
I have PCI and an APG slots

the FX5500 is older than the 6200's, so i would rule that out. i have absolutely no idea what the difference between the vanilla 6200 and the 6200LE is. i say just choose the one that's got better reviews or google reviews for both of them and see which one is better.

yeah I read both of them can run doom 3 with decent graphics which is pretty awesome because doom 3 takes a toll on almost any older graphics card. I will be aiming right now on ebay or newegg the 6600 which is said to be much better than any of the 5 series or 6 series.

ASUS 256mb Geforce 6600 for 55, I just settled on this.

Also AGP 8 would be compatible on the AGP 2.0 slot right (4x transfer)?

Wish my gaming pc even worked right now. I am thinking something overheated cause it started going into the BSOD every time someone did anything on it for a few minutes, and as far as I;ve checked, no viruses or nothing. Gonna call up and see if tech support knows of anything. The worst part is I have no idea what isn't working!

Hey I was wondering if this can be a plausible scenario.

If the part I ordered from 3btech turns out to be a fake can I call my credit card company and force a money back return?

I'm asking this because alot of people have been complaining that the items they receive are not new and some are fake. Im kind of worried since ASUS does not make that brand of geforce and it says gddr3 which is not standard for a geforce 6600 (its better =P).

yeah, i would go for it if i were you. why would you order from there in the first place? if a price is too good to be true, it usually is.

www.resellerratings.com is your friend.

oh goodness, a 3.5 out of 10...

Yeah okay good thing I didn't order yet

Ill just get the PNY model from compuvest with the 3 day shipping =P

The asus I was hoping to be a better version than the PNY version and it runs the gddr3 and not the ddr
