If they went back more to the 06 style, I may buy it, 06 is by far my favorite, I can own anyone....07 was ok, but I just liked 06 more.

I'm perfectly fine with my NHL 2002. I'm not a hockey fan, so I would rather buy Madden or NCAA football every year than buy NHL every year.

They are supposed to add some good features because a lot of people were dissapointed with 07 but we will see

I will get it the day it comes out, no joke, it looks so sick.
The customization of players is insane. everything down to the cuve of sticks and skate blades. You can also make your own team again. The defense has an AI so they will pick up on commonly run plays and there are new moves you can do with both the skills stick and other joy stick. You can also chart out your own plays and execute them by taking the lead player to his spot on the ice. Plus the graphics are sick.
I loved '07 so I have no doubt I will love '08.

I loved 07, I played it more than any other NHL game I've ever owned (with the exception of the NHL Hitz series). I'm sure I'll get 08 its just a matter of how much money I have and what other games I want then because there's a ton of games coming out this winter season. I'll get it for 360 for sure and maybe for wii if its good for wii. If I don't buy it right away I'll just get it for christmas.

im probably gonna reserve it for psp, even though u probably dont have to because most people dont like hockey (i dont understand them to this day)

Wow, that looks really nice, glad we alternate years for buying sports games (nhl+madden every 2 years), this game looks tight. I like the create player, they added alot of depth to it (apperance, equipment) and the create team looks much improved (from 06). Looks very nice, thanks for the linkage

I'm waiting for FIFA...I dislike soccer, but scoring sick goals in FIFA > than sick goals in NHL 08. The NHL 08 demo was pretty terrible gameplay-wise as well...

fifa is always amazing and so are nhl games.

I'm judging from the gameply in the demo - download it on 360. It's seriously terrible. Im actually shocked at how bad it is. PAssing with the thumbstick is retarded. Sorry, it just is.

Got NHL 08 today and its pretty sweet. The game play is kind of slow, but you can just crank up the sliders to fix that. I think where they tried to make the game more realistic the succeeded in some respects (the total skating control is pretty good), but failed in others (It's way to hard to hit people and I play hockey, I know its not as difficult to make an hit as it is in this game. That said it is more realistic than old games where you could crush anyone anytime. They also did a good job incorporating momentum into how big the hit is). I'd say overall they did a good job. Graphics are good, dynasty mode didn't change mode, but its still good.

The thing that was awesome for me was the creation zone. Its amazing. If you create a player you can choose their helmet, gloves, stick including flex and curve which have an affect on your shot in this game, skates including like radius or something like that which affects your skating. Its all real stuff too like RBK 7k and 9k sticks along with vectors, synergies, sher-wood momentum, and plenty others. Skates include, but are not limited too ONE90's some vapors, vector 10.0's, RBK 9k's. Then if you create a team you can choose all the jersey colors, home and away, all the colors of your gloves, pants, socks, and helmets, all the colors of your goalies equipment. They really did a great job in the creation mode. The one con of the creation mode is one that always is bad, the logos. They once again stuck you with about a dozen logos to choose from none of which are that cool. I'm not complaining though, I feel the game and the creation mode were very well put together and I enjoy the game a lot.

Also, the 1 v. 1 skill stick improvement is awesome.
