NYC/NJ college club lacrosse

Hi im going to be a senior at my highschool and am starting to look at colleges. I know i wanna play lacrosse wherever i go but am more interested in a club team or intramural team than playing for the the actual college team. I was just wondering if anyone knew of or played for any somewhat high level college club teams or college intramural teams in the new york city, long island, or north jersey region. any imput would be greatly appreciated.

On Long Island we have pickup games in the summer at hauppauge high school every tuesday, friday, and sunday at 6. Tons of high school and college players show up. Last sunday we had 3 guys from europe, 1 guy from team ireland, and guys from delaware, cortland, cornell, etc. It's gonna end soon since the summer is coming to an end, and college will start soon but come down before the summer ends.

Also try PMing a user called odious. He knows a pick up league in Brooklyn Heights.

thanks a lot that sounds real good to me ill deffinately try and get myself down there before the end of the summer. also does anyone know of colleges in this area that have good club teams during the school year?

theres a pickup league in staten island at Farell high school then theres another pickup league at aviator sports complex in brooklyn its not in brroklyn heights though aviator is out twoards rockaway

yeah i've played pickup at aviator sports in brooklyn, it's definitely way out and there and since I didn't bring my car with me that meant the subway and the bus with my gear bag. It was a fun time though and they have a great complex.

hey guys thanks a lott for all your replies ill deffinately be checking out all of those pickup leagues next year over the summer. but i was alsoo wondering if anybody knew of some colleges that had club lacrosse teams or even itramural lacrosse teams run through the college. I know many schools do this with hockey but i was wondering if anyone knew any that the same
with lacrosse.

i know Columbia has a college club team, my coach plays and is one of their player coaches

NYU has a club team. "NYlaxLI" plays for them.

The MCLA and NCLL are the 2 big college club leagues. The NCLL allows teams from schools with varsity programs while the MCLA does not. There are almost 300 teams between the two leagues, check out the laxpower ratings to get a complete list. There are a lot of college club teams in the metro area. They range from extremely serious (the top teams in MCLA-A) to having fun.

With the title 9 and funding issues, much of the growth of men's college lax is at the club level, and you can expect college club lacrosse to get better every year.
