i wanted to die my head black so i bout black rit dye and i put it in the water with the dye and i come back 12 hours later and its maroon how many packs do i need two three please tell me right away bc i need to redye before my game!!!

You've got to keep the water as hot as possible through-out the process, and often using a bit more than one pack/bottle helps too.

well if u are using like a very narrow container or something so like no tmuch water then 1 pack would be fine but if u added a lot of water then 2 packets maybe even three

also keep the water covered so it stays hot

just boil more water and dye it black. For black dyes, dye the head a dark color first, then black. And you only need 1 packet of dye.

You should only need one packet now that your head is maroon, just make sure the water is hot and stays hot the entire time. I'm guessing this is your first dye?

what i do is i boil the water,take it off the stove, mix in the dye, put in the head and then put a lid and leave it sit for at least six hours.

As said for dark colors especially black you really on need to focus on 2 things. 1)Keep the water very very hot throughout the whole dye. If you do this you should only need to leave the head in for like 30 minutes or so. and 2) Don't use much water. If you use to much water by accident or because the bucket you are using is big then you need to add more dye.
What I do when dying black is this:
I use a metal pot so I can keep it on the stove
Get water to a boil
Put dye in the water and mix
Put dye on simmer or lower heat
Put head in and leave for 25 or so minutes.
Pull out, clean off see how it is and if its good put it in cold water or freezer (helps the dye set in and if you have glue on the head it makes it easier to get off). If the head doesn't look right redo it.

thanks i just kept warming it up and adventaully it picked up i strung it i'll post pics tomorrow and now i'm dying my helix wat i'm string a all black custom its gonna be hot

yea its black now i just needed to kept it at 150f
