i see thats the reason the pocket is slanted, step 1- what i do is pull the to middle leathers as tights as possible then do ur twist, step 2- get a ball and place it under the 2 center leathers then start to string the 2 other leathers to geather. the i think u can handle the outside

well you interlocked wrong for one, but anyways, it seems as though you pulled harder/not as hard on some of the center twists. i personally start with the center to make sure my channel is strait.

if you dont want to restring it completely, stick a ball/knife in, and adjust it. To me it looks like you might need to either tighten something on the right side, or loosen something to the left, cause your pocket is leaning to the left slightly. also, your leathers look kinda bunched, this can easily be fixed by sticking a ball/knife back in, and pulling the leathers through, just taking up the slack.

Well because pita's aren't very difficult to string and take very little time, I suggest restringing it and doing everything lacrossedude said to do. Definately take care to start with the leathers tightened as tight as possible at the beginning, then once you reach the bottom, stick a ball and butterknife in and finish up the channel. That will keep the leathers in equal tightness so they don't bunch like they are now.

it looks to me like you pulled the twists way too tight then when you interlocked them around the leathers you tried to do it loose. this probably is what is causing it to warp

are there any real upsides to having a pita pocket?

Customs are generally, well, more customizable, at least in my experience. For a lot of people, a well strung trad/custom can be a world's difference in comparison to a mesh pocket.
For a Pita specifically, the center track provides for a pretty consistent release, assuming you maintain it properly, your leathers aren't bunched, you interlocked correctly, etc. It's also an easy (if not the easiest) custom to string.
