I am just wondering if anyone has ever heard of attack/defense mesh that is more than 10 diamonds? I am pretty sure that it is not made. This would be extremely small diamonds as you can imagine. I really want, a mesh producer, most likely a small business, such as jimalax, etc. to try and experiment with this, we cannot know until we try it. It may be amazing mesh.

I personally think that the mesh would provide better hold and accuracy. If you have any thoughts about what you think the mesh would be like, please post them. And if anyone knows any mesh producers who would be willing to try something at the expense of a few dollars please call them or talk to them about it.

link please.... i searched on their website and i couldnt find it, the only mesh that was more than 10 diamond was goalie mesh. And that is obviously not what im looking for.

And if you are talking about mini mesh that comes on fiddle sticks, then that isnt what i am looking for, because it comes on those heads, which are alot smaller than regulation size heads. thanks again. link please.

couldn't you just buy goalie mesh and cut it to width and length? you would still have the smaller diamonds, right?

No, obviously the mesh on a goalie stick is alot wider than attack/defense mesh, so if you cut it to the right width, it would take off diamonds. Kinda simple common sense.

You asked a question, he answered it. He could've chose not to help you at all, but he took time out of his life to answer your question. Way to be grateful.

Yes excuse me for that, i am sorry for being crude. I just wish he would have shown me a link to follow or something. :crying:

They made it a few years ago, but its sales were mediocre at best. They used to sell it on Jimalax but i guess they phased it out. Here is a link to an E-Lacrosse article from back in '03 about 'mini or micro mesh':

thanks you for that link. But for some reason it will not allow me to click on the "buy mini mesh now" link at the bottom of that page. It might just be my computer, so if you have a link where i could buy this, then i would very much appreciate it. thanks again.

if you really want to buy it, it is still listed at comlax.com. i don't know if they still actually have it but it's listed. I wouldn't waste your time or money on micro mesh, it's not worth it.

Well E-Lacrosse still has mini mesh posted in their store too, so if you want to spend 9.99 + shipping:

yeah try comlax. i heard there shipping and customer service is good. im suprised jima doesnt have it now. they must have dropped it because the mesh isnt that great.

no ones asked this and you havent really said so if you dont mind me asking what are you going to use the micro mesh for? your headline said "experiment" but what is there to experiment with. if i were you i wouldnt waste your time, but thats just me.

nope.
generally, the smaller the diamond, the quicker it'll release, but it will lack in hold. the best hold is in mesh with fewer diamonds(6D/7D/...)
im sure you can get good hold in minimesh, but if you want hold, go for a larger diamond.
as for accuacy, it really has nothing to do with diamond size. sure, the larger the diamond, it'll feel more "bumpy" when it releases, but it will only make the slightest differnce in accuracy.
accuracy come from your shooter preferance(a "U" or "V" shooter will have better accuracy than a strait shooter). but most of your accuracy will come from your ability to throw/shoot where you want it to go.

yeah but hold depends on how soft the mesh is too. if the minimesh was super soft a crapload of diamonds, it mite be a the best of both worlds

You could also try e-mailing jimalax, I mean its worth a shot, just because they stopped selling it doesn't mean they don't have any extra stocked, and I'm sure that if they had any it would be alot cheaper the $9.99+tax, so i would try that too unless you've found a place you want to but it from.

yes it will have more hold but then it'll have a soft mesh effect of throwing like crap.
not many people like the feel of soft mesh anyways.

This is sort of random but has anyone tried the fastest pocket thing on e-lacrosse I brought this up becuase it has to do with micro mesh.

thanks for the links guys, and i think i am gonna try it out, because i havnt yet, and its all preference if a person likes a certain mesh or not.

And stunnerE i did not know that this mesh had been made before, so that is what i meant by experimenting with it. If anyone knew any mesh producers than they might have wanted to test it, and "experiment" with extremely small diamonds. But after i found out that it has already been made, then that title was of no use.

thanks again for the patience, and all of the posts, everyone.

And by the way, does anyone like my signature??

micromesh....

O it looks like someone beat me. I hate it though. No hold. Though i saw a pocket TUT called "The fastest pocket alive" or sumthin to that nature. Granted it had no hold, but it improved shot velocity like 3 MPH. lol

Also im sure textileguru could make some, or something different, that would be pretty cool.

good post man, all correct points

And, brine makes 12 diamond soft mesh on their harpoon sticks (a really nice stick for the price when pinched and dyed (it is pretty stiff and light, and takes dye great) which are like 15-25 dollars, so you could get one, put the shaft on a mini head (it is smaller), take the head, dye/pinch it, then toss back on the 12 d mesh, it might be hard to keep legal though, it looks ment for wide heads, just don't double up too much.

Hope that helps.

well the current composite mesh that he has made is still 10D but depending on what style you get the diamonds are either larger or smaller then your normal piece of 10D

also if the mini mesh isnt listed on www.jimalax.com that means that they are out of stock and you could email them since there pretty much the best/cheapest place to order any stringing supplies from
