I'm starting highschool level play, so I obviously need to upgrade from a 20 dollar piece from Sports Authority. Now from what i've gathered the revo pro is very good, but it's expensive. If anyone could give me some real experienced info on this (i.e what head I should buy) please post ! :worship:
Like should i get an X2, Bionic, or plain old revo ?
also im getting the krypto c405 wire because it's cool, nice composition, and is a good price - is there another D pole better ? keeping a restricted budget of about 200 in mind. thanks

thats tough. the only head upthere that i personally dont like for d is teh cyber. maybey the x2 cuz its not pinched enough. but if u want a head that isnt too heavy but not too light i would go with revo pro. ive never used one but its obviously suposed to be better than the revo, wich is a very good d head. and u say ur starting high school play? so is is that at the freshie level or above? regardless i htink revo pro on the c405 should do ya good.

Get a Wizard, it's probably the best defensive head you can use. And if your going to get a klyte you might as well get a kpro becuz you can get them for a lil more than a klyte. But yea, for defense go with either an X2 or a Wizard, if you dont want a piinch get an X2 if you want it pinched get a Wizard.

i use the x2. The head is beastly. It is awsome strong, stiff, great scoop, and not so heavy. Another good d head is the edge cant forget about that. Its good too and a litttle lighter than the x2.

I use a proton for attack and i cant imagine using another head. Since the X2 is more or less just a stronger proton, it gets my vote. Besides that, its also very cheap as compared to the revopro. I've never used an X2 but if i was playing d that would be my first choice. If you absolutely have to get a newer head i would probably say bionic. Im just partial to STX heads so ultimately you shoulf try to get ahold of all of you possibilaties and try them yourself. Your the only person who will know which head is best for you. $45.00 strung at Lacrossedigest.com is an amazing price for the X2 if you choose it. If you'd prefer a different mesh, jimalax.com is the best way to go. They provide amazing service and product.

Alright I think I have chosen the X2 as my new head, i'll look on ebay for the revo pro and bionic so i can try out all my top picks - but the last 2 things I need to get done are: 1. where can i get a cheap krypto c405 wire ? 2. what kind of dye/ paint is it that you use to dye a head ? and where do you get it ?
Thanks :agree:

The most popular dye for dying heads is RIT dye. Its a fabric dye that is commonly used for tie-dye shirts. Most if not all craft stores should have it. It can also commonly be found at supermarkets and chains such as wal-mart. If you do a search you should find more than enough dying information. The e-lacrosse stick tech section will also provide you with ample information. Laxshopper.com can probably help you find the best price for the shaft. Before everyone jumps on you in a mean way, I would also just like you to know , that the "search" button can help you with most questions.

Check the FAQ in stick tech for complete guides on dying and pinching. You can also check www.e-lacrosse.com and www.laxnation.com for more tips and such.

okay, i am by far a revo fan, i only use them on my poles, but i have to say that if i get another stick i might get an x2. I havent used one in a long time so i am thinking about getting one.

I've used a ton of heads for defense and by far the X2 is the greatest, IMO. Out of 9 defensemen on my team, 5 use the X2, 1 uses an Edge, 1 uses a Bionic and 2 use a Proton (Note: Both Protons actually are LSMs). Before the X2, I used a Bionic, Revo, Cyber, and Edge and the X2 blows them all away. Revo isn't bad but I hate the scoop on it in conjunction with the pole. Edge can still be great but they're still pretty pricey. Bionic is heavy and the pinch is awkward but the scoop is great. Cyber was too flimsy for me. I've heard good things about the Wizard but I disliked the scoop on it. FWIW, those are my thoughts on D heads, I would buy X2s until the cows come home to play that position.

yeah know if it was only as easy to find a good shaft....
Anyways I'm another fan of the X2, you can nab one for like 45 total at lacrossedigest.

I got the X2 and the c405 wire, i used two packets of dye and took it down to the local mad lax store and got it strung with 6 diamond mesh - and i must say that the X2 is by far the best head for D i have ever used, plus the color scheme is *****in'
