I know that there have been many ideas proposed in the past couple months about the this forum, but I'm on another forum where I think the system is best. First off, you can't make a For Sale thread unless you have either been a member for 90 days or have made 100 posts. Second, if you make a deal with someone, there is an entire forum, called the Agreement Forum, where people type out their agreements with other members. So say I was to make a deal with Hooligan, the thread would be titled, "Agreement between egrlax10 and Hooligan." Then in the thread it would say something like, "egrlax10 agrees to ship a brand new Patriot to Hooligan. When Hooligan receives the Patriot, he agrees to ship his cardboard box to egrlax10." And if I started that thread, then Hooligan would reply saying he agrees, vice versa if Hooligan started it. Then, there is a whole separate forum for feedback, and it works like eBay feedback. Just an idea, but it works really well, and I think it would be beneficial to have on these forums.

that sounds like a great idea, and you could have a spot in your signature with current deals

are you talking about feedback? I was thinking it could have a description of you ongoing deals in your signature.

you just update whats happening in your agreement thread. so the first and second post is the agreement, then after that would be, "patriot sent out today." then, "received patriot today, sent out cardboard box." and so on.

i forgot to mention, there are also separate forums for selling and buying. there is a "listing forum" for selling, and a "wanted forum" for buying.

I think people with -5 feedback should be banned from the fs/ft/wtb/wttf forum for life

So you sent your Patriot to Hooligan, and he recieves a Razer? For a box???? Sounds like you got ripped off. (10)

Ok, seriously, it sounds like a good method.

I like the 90 days part but not the 100 posts. Then some new members may post garbage to get to 100 posts after the 90 days passes.

The only bad thing i can think of is that there will be like 200000 threads and people will make pointless posts to get the the 100 point mark

100 posts is a lot of posts. i doubt that a scammer would go to the trouble of making that many posts just to rip people off. although it probably would be better if it was just 90 days.

I had 100 posts in the last week, not to brag, but I guess they were mostly in the FS/WTB forum, so those wouldn't allow me to break the hundred barrier.

i say that there should be a 90 day period before you can post a thread in any forum. noobs wouldnt exist

I really like the 90 day idea. It'll not only allow new users to get to know the F/WTB forum, but will also discourage scammage. But I think what we all need to realize is that the internet will have scammers, no matter what type of precautions a forum has. That's why you just need to be careful and be sure to know who you are dealing with.

I personally don't like the 90 day idea proposal. Being a member of TLF for a little less than a month, i've already gathered +5 feedback, with 3 more +1's coming in. I think that it proves that not all people who are new to the site are going to be scammers/bad buyers or traders. I understand the principle of it to prevent scamming, but wouldn't it be better for like 30-60 days?? That way people learn the ropes of TLF and then get into buying. 90 days is nearly 3 whole months, which if there here purely to buy something (some people are, you get incredible deals here) it could discourage them from using this, or even get them to stop using it all together. but thats just my input on it.

ninety days with no fs/wtb posting sounds good, but it would be great if they could view it just so they could learn the ropes

Or just get rid of it completely. Its a legal liability and Im sick of hearing people A) complain about a trade B) be all smug about how they have a perfect trading record C) complain about the organization of the forum.

You either have to go all the way and fully make a trading place or dont do it at all. This whole pseudo organization is just creating hassle.

ive been advocating this for a long time. its way more hassle than its worth

I hardly see much of a point here except for an additional forum of threads for the staff to patrol. The only purpose this would serve is to make trades public, which has no benefit. Just because someone writes in a thread what their plans are doesn't mean they have any intention of following through on them.

I thought RIT's idea was somewhat beneficial, but if he, as a mod, cannot get an idea such as that passed, I cannot see something like this--or any FS/WTB suggestion--gaining the support of the staff.

i think that as a first post you should not be able to make a fs/wtb post
i like the 100 post thing you can adjust the post count to not include deleted/ pointless posts
