Is it just me or over the past few years have the recruiting classes for Syracuse been a bit lackluster? Looking over the list of the Top 50 Rising Seniors, there were such few committments to Syracuse. Having one of the most storied programs in the nation, all the impressive hardware and the lineage of great players, how come their classes haven't been better?

There are kids from New York who are now leaving the state to play lacrosse when Syracuse has always been a premier school for D1 Lacrosse?

Thoughts?

Syracuse has to stop heavily recruiting in section 3 and start recruiting more guys from LI, MD, MA, etc.

I think their incoming class was ranked 5th which isn't too shabby. But I also agree with dta about where they recruit. Not to mention I think there are also a lot more options opening up for people, so while SU is a great school for some, there's also many other options which look just as appealing. SU has to compete with schools they didn't have to previously.

I think a place Syracuse could recruit and strike gold in is Canada. The school isn't too far from Canada, and I'm sure with the Gait Brother's legacy at Syracuse, they Canadians would love to play at Syracuse.
