This is not an official review because I did not get it approved. I will not post pictures. I do not post pics of my equipment for personal reasons, so don't ask. K?

I bought the sentinel, first gen with no throat holes. Strung it up with 12d. This is a big positive. There are so many stringing options it’s hard not get the perfect pocket for your throwing style and personal likes. Even without drilling throat holes I found a decent way to attach the bottom string to the throat.

The sentinel is very light. Noticeably lighter than my old nemi/wood or harrow combo. Yes those ounces make a difference. I felt faster but felt like I had less control. I wouldn’t say better, I would just say it’s different.

Flex. I was excited to hear that the sentinel is very stiff. Mine is not. I have played in hot weather were heads flex on ground balls and on fast shots…but it wasn’t that hot out. On the first ground ball, the sentinel flexed and folded in on itself. I had to physically unfold it and push the sidewalls out. And now they are not in the right position or angle. On shots I could feel the sentinel flex, and on clears it flexed. I have used the guardian, and I would compare it to worse than that flex.

I am not using the sentinel for this season (no I won’t sell it to you). Overall it’s weight isn’t worth the flex. I’m switching back to the nemi.

I believe your sentinel may be the exception not the rule. mine has never come close to folding in on its self for the entire time i've owned and played with it which includes 3/4 of a season, playing in Vail and a summer league. mine does flex a bit but only when it's above 90 degrees. or maybe i have the exception, who knows :nut:

Well if debeer gave me one for free... I'd give it a second shot. The pocket was so nice though. That was the hard thing to give up.

i had mine for a year of box and field, now box makes the life of heads shorter and this thing was just as stiff after being dyed and leaned on all box year.

the only time mine have been even remotely not close to stiff is when it was 100+ degrees on the field, maybe you got a bad one...

Logical? for me? Have I been insulted....

Maybe I did get a bum one. But I'm not willing to spend the money to see if I get lucky. There should really be some sort of tests so bum ones don't get out, because this has been my second bad debeer/gait experience. I really don't feel the need to try for number 3.

Bummer about your experiences. Nice small review though, I think it's nice to have a different perspective. I wish I could review one later :(

Sentinal is very light and has the right stiffness, but I hate the fact its horrible to string even with its many stringing holes.
