Hey Guys,
Apparently Birmingham-Southern in Alabama is getting a DIII program. I received an email from the coach asking me if I wanted any information about the school/etc. I was surprised that a school in Alabama was getting a program. Any one else know anything about this?
Thanks

Don't know much about the school other than the fact that it's the 4th school in the SCAC to add lax (Sewanee, Hendrix & Colorado College are the others). The coach played at Upper Arlington, was a terrific player at Roanoke & coached at Mt St Joe last year.

In looking at the college's website, it appears they offer a fair amount of academic and other grants to students.

I got a letter from the coach, looks like a good school. It would be cool to be on a start up program, starts and ends with your class.

BSC was orginally planning to be club in 2009 and then go varsity in 2010 but they accelerated the plan and are going to be a varsity program next spring ('09). Coach Bonasera was a 4 X All-American at Roanoke and is recruiting players from all over the SE. Birmingham Southern is a great school that focuses on academics and is located close to the middle of the city. Check out the school at www.bscsports.net
