wat were your guys thoughts on the first week of nfl?i was really impressed by calvin johnson, adrian peterson, leon hall, and patrick willis. theyll all be stars. i also thought mario williams played well and this will be his breakout year. i really hope the ravens arent a disapointment. mcnair didnt do well at all against the awful bengals D. they also have some injuries to key players. theyve also got a tough schedule with games vs. the patriots, colts, chargers, bengals again, and 2 vs. the steelers. i think demetrius williams will be a pretty good receiver though. he made a few nice catches.

As a pats fan i was impressed with Moss' performance, he's a great addition and Bill won't take his crap which will keep him in check. How about Hobbs - 108 yd record setting kick off return. The lines performance was amazing, those guys deserve more credit. Tom could've taken a nap in the pocket at times

I was disgusted by both the Bears and Chargers ability to hold the ball, seemed like every other play was a fumble.

I expected more than just a jacket from Chad Johnson and i'm surprised they allow him to play with a grill.

Could be a very long season for the Browns. They looked so bad. Three turnovers..in the first quarter.

Vikings and Chargers won! What a great week.

Chargers and Vikings are both going 15-1.

Vikings will be led to that 15-1 by Peterson, and at week 17, he will break his leg, and we will go out in the first game of the playoffs.

Chargers will win the Bowl, I mean come on, they beat one of, if not, the best defenses in the league when their star didn't play the best game of his life.

hahahah i hate the browns, worst team in the history of sports. And then what do they do they trade Frye to the Seahawks, i love it so much. Every year they talk crap and Pittsburgh knocks em in the mouth. Go Steelers and Chargers.

I was pretty disappointed with the Chargers, and the 49ers game was the most boring game to watch. But everyone who won is who i predicted, except the Saints.

Does anybody else think its crap that Russell is just now signing and making a guaranteed 31 million?

the cowboys' offense was so nasty. Romo had 350 yards 4TD and ran for one. And their rookie anthony spencer had atleast 1 sack and stopped the 2 point conversion where eli got hurt on. They look like the best team in the nfc east. Wade Phillips is known for his D, so hopefully they will fix that up, and then WHOOP on the dolphins this week, be ready trent

I think that the giants will have a very strange year. Eli is starting to feel more comfortable as a leader (first two plays of the game show this) Tiki is gone and jacobs has to step up to long yardage not just short. Strahan didnt go to any of the offseason practices. Osi is hurt. i doubt that they will be a big part of the NFC east and Cowboys and Eagles will stomp all over them.

I was really surprised by the Patriots 49ers and Saints games. Patriots really stepped up and put on a great game even though it wasnt a high end team. 49ers just played like they were in practice and with no emotion. and the saints arent stepping up to the powerhouse they were thought to be

I was pretty impressed with the Panther's win over the Rams, they have fallen under the radar since their superbowl appearance. I never realized until recently David Carr is their 2nd stringer this year. Frankly, I wish he'd get some snaps because I'd say the Texans dismal O-line was to blame for his mistakes, otherwise he did a decent job. I think given the oppurtunity he could still be pretty good. Otherwise, I'm just hoping the Redskins will hit it big this year.

Also the Panthers and Packers suprised me. I think they are both playoff calibur team.

It's not up to debate whether or not they cheated. The Patriots employee was CAUGHT in the act of taping the Jets defensive signals, and the tapes were confiscated. Also, this isn't the first time this has happened. It's like the 3rd or 4th similar incident that has occurred with the Pats.

Peterson and Calvin Johnson looked solid. My Baltimore Ravens have to pick it up though terrible play on there part. Randy Moss was impressive but he's on a team that cheats so ....

You do realize they were playing easily one of if not the worst Defense in the NFC? I'm not gonna hate on Romo for playing great, and TO picked up exactly where he left off, but if you want to look at how great your offense played, you'll want to look at how terribly you're defense played. If Eli can throw 4 TDs against you, imagine what good offenses down the line will do.

Even Jason Campbell shredded their D last year. A better test will be this week- the Dolphins front 7 is over rated, but their very good at getting to the QB. Dallas has had Oline troubles for a while, so this will be a good time. But if Romo does get time, he should look for TO, because their secondary is easily their weak link, not to mention their starting safety Bell is out for the year.

The Panthers will make the playoffs IMO, but the Packers are still looking. Their run game is average, but their Defense should keep them in games. If Brett can not lose games (big difference between not losing and winning) then they might pick up a wild card. If they can hold down the Lions O, then they should have a good series against them.

What about the Vikings? We know their Run D was sensational, and although they played against a challenged team like the Falcons, but if they can play that kind of defense, they're going places. The only down part was, int he 4th quarter, the score was still only 10-3. Luckily for them, AD and Co. stepped it up big time.

hmmm....eli isnt good is he? I can't wait til they play the redskins and jason campbell dumps himself when he sees demarcus ware staring him down. They won't stand a chance, atleast the giants had some recievers. The redskins pick up guys that are garbage( randle el, caldwell, lloyd) and think they have a great team. The only respectable guys on that D is fletcher and taylor.thats it. And when you score 45 a game and the other team doesn't you still win.

No, Eli isn't good. And the sooner you learn to INTELLIGENTLY dissect our team, the sooner your opinion will be respect. I sincerely doubt that anybody would soil themselves if they saw another human being. And that "garbage" receiver you mention had 5 receptions last week- for 162 yards. Good luck finding someone to back up TO- Glenn's knee is going to be almost as painful as Newman's foot. And if you think our D is limited to Taylor and Fletcher, guys like Landry and McIntosh are going to rock your world. And seeing as I gave Romo credit for his performance, I don't understand the "45 points on a mediocre defense is still a win... even if we gave up 35 points to a marginally better offense".

thats alright that newman and glenn are hurt. Whitten DID have 140 yards and a TD, crayton had over 60 yards recieving and sam hurd had a 51 yard TD in the 4th quarter when it mattered. I dont think there is going to be a problem missing terry. We could use newman you are right. We will see how the cowboys do against trhe dolphins a team you guys just beat in OT, thanks to the cowboys kicker sean suisham. Your welcome. Your D is mediocre i'd say, there is def. some weakness on the mine though. WHY WOULD WE NEED A BACK UP FOR TERRELL??? HE'S A FREAK OUT THERE!!!

I dont know who you are referring to but if you are referring to T.O, the only reason he had so many drops is because he played with a torn ligament in his finger all year. At least he was tough about it and played unlike Portis who is a little sissy.

You're proud of having over looked a very good kicker? We are quite thankful that you gave us him last year, when you guys were stuck with Vanderjagt. You guys should beat the Fins, but week 3 is going to be a good one for you guys. Our D is mediocre? Forget teh fact that save for the last play of the half, we didn't allow a TD in that game. Forget the fact that the Fins needed a terrible PI call just to get in FG distance to tie the game. And last time I checked, TO is one player. He's a damn good one, but I'm pretty sure people use two recievers a game.

He might be a jack***, but he still puts up some of the best numbers in the league week in and week out.

I HATE the Cowboys and TO, but I'd agree with you. TO is sensational all around. He might not have that 4.2 speed, but come game day, he might as well run a 3.9

I dont know who you are referring to but if you are referring to T.O, the only reason he had so many drops is because he played with a torn ligament in his finger all year. At least he was tough about it and played unlike Portis who is a little sissy.

Yes, Portis is a sissy because he broke his hand. What a PUNK! It was only a broken bone, not like he needed it.

Again, TO might have had a reason to drop all those passes last season, but to say Portis is a sissy is something that only a Cowboys fan would say.

truss009
09-14-2007, 01:37 PM
yes they have 1 exceptional WR and then a top 5 TE and about 3 other WR's that can step up and take terry's place. Once again did you watch them last week? FAir enough though, when the 2 face off. It all will go down. And yes you are welcome for a kicker that didn't do anything for us. We have a better rookie named nick folk.

Meade Lacrosse
09-14-2007, 01:40 PM
Nick Folk? Better than Suisham? You must be on Cowboy Crack. Suisham is 3/3 ont he year, and made his last 8 kicks last year, including a Clutch 52 yarder against the Rams. When Nick Folk does that, he'll be in the same league as Suisham. Until then, good luck with your Cowboy Carousal of Kickers.

Witten is clearly one of the top 5 TEs in the league, and you do have 3 decent back ups, but when we see a Crayton or Hurd get their yards against a decent defense, then we'll talk.

He DID put up points the last time he played them. And Suisham did blow for the Cowboys, but came to the Redskins and played better than any kicker you guys have had for the past 10 years. Thats what good coaching will get you.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Romo IS the top fantasy player for Week 1. Sure they did play an underacheiving Defense but it IS the NFL and anything can happen. Like the Colts defense last year. They stunk the whole regular season and in the playoffs they looked like an elite group.
All you Romo haters, come talk when your true team's QB throws for 4 TD's and runs for one.

You're actually going to use Fantasy Football as a selling point?

And if Romo can do that against the Gints, than every team will have a field day on their defense.

How intelligent of you. Look back at Campbell's last game against the Gints- he also had a field day. Our "defense" if you can call it that, surrendered 35 points. Our defense- which missed our starting corner, a real safety, our best DL, and a real OLB.

You miss Terence Newman, and Eli Manning looks like his brother.
