The other day at football practice, I sprained my thumb catching a pass. I went to the doctor and its not dislocated or broken, if I played a game with it tomorrow could it get much worse? I play tight end by the way so I need it to catch and block.

i dont think a sprained thumb is going to last 2 months. i would take, at the most, a week off and if it gets better than come back early

my doctor said 2 weeks to a month and I think that is crazy. The trainer said if t he swelling goes down considerably I can play. It sucks so much being injured.

I sprained my thumb at lacrosse camp, and I still played in every game. My thumb was fine after that. Just have the trainer tape your thumb up.

Ice it down constantly and wear lineman gloves if you have any. I jammed 4 fingers last year and still played.

i had the same thing a few years ago, i just had the trainer tape it so i couldnt really move my thumb and i was good to go
and im a receiver, so i assume you would be able to do the same thing as a tight end
