I was out BMXing with my friends and we were going around my school and i found someone's phone. But, it doesnt have any numbers saved in it so i cant use a number and call it to find out whose it is. So, anyone have any sort of idea as to how i can figure out whose it is? Also, i think service on it was canceled, so im not really sure what to do.
Thanks,

look in the phone and find the number then call 411 and tell them you found the phone and tell them the number

Give it to the school and have it put it up for lost and found

if is is a cingular, take it to a dealer, and they should be able to track the number on the SIM card. If not, call yourself with it, get the number, and then report the number to the service provider.

not just cingular uses SIM cards.
maybe the phone is useless so the person may have transfered all thier contacts to the SIM card and took it out and got a new phone (just a thought). if i were you i would take it to the school.

It seems that taking it to the school lost and found is what i'll probably do. But the way out lost and found is, if you claim that it's yours...they give it to you.

dont give it to lost and found, they wont look there. The best way to get it to the person is calling the service provider

if service is cancelled on it that probably means they lost it and got a new one and put service on that one or something, i would sell it

i would try contacting verizon, cingular, etc and finding whos it was. if that doesnt work then sell it

Nothing wrong with keeping it.

Yeah because looking in the school lost and found wouldn't be a completely logical way to find something you had lost at school.

Alright, that was the only company I knew 100% that had sim cards.

Well you can always keep it. If the subscription has been cancelled there really isn't a way to figure out how whos phone it was.
Best chance is the lost and found at your school.

if you have a SIM card, and the phone accepts SIM cards, and the phone is nicer than yours than keep it.
