colin mcrae, a scottish rally racer, has died in a helicopter crash near his home in scotland.

No, Colin and his 5 year old son died. His wife and daughter were not in the helicopter. Two other people died with Colin and his son but I don't think they have been named yet.

this was yesterday right? i saw it last night and then he was believed to have been killed in the crash.

Yes, I think it was around 4pm in England. I've just heard that one of the other people killed was Colins sons friend.

This guy was an amazing driver. It's really a shame to pass away at such a young age at you're prime. RIP Colin, and your son. My condolences to the McCrae family.

this reminds me of when steve irwin was killed. its sad to see it happen to anyone, but someone who has done stuff similar to this countless times before.
