I am a trainer for the football team, and this year, I have already picked up two "cutters" gloves, and one "nike" glove. Since there not mine and I have no desire to use them, do you think it work if I cut out the palms and had my grandma sew them into my lacrosse gloves for me. Would this work? or would it be a waste of time and gloves?

Try it on old glove first.

cutters have amazing grip, try that. I think it would be way too grippy though.

I don't think it would be big enough. Because Lax gloves aren't as skin tight as football.

"... [have] my grandma sew them into my lacrosse gloves for me...."
You might find out that grandma knows some words you didn't think she knew. That's a lot of work. You've got to run the stitches through corners and curves, and around four fingers and a thumb. Look at the glove and imagine how much effort that would be. That's nothing but tight spacing and close clearances. It's handwork, and it can't be done with a machine. Yes, originally, gloves are machine-made, but if you're combining parts of two different gloves at home, this is strictly handwork.
I'm in the same situation. I've got some gloves here with ripped up palms and some spare glove material. The difference is that I'm my own seamster, and the difficulty of the task has kept me from starting it. It will be a cold, rainy day before I take on that project.
It would be easier to start with something like a chamois cloth, sold at the auto parts stores, for raw material for the palms.

i think it may work, but the outcome wouldnt be good. football gloves are very grippy, and would almost stick to your shaft, making it hard to slide and switch hands.

It is illegal to alter your gloves in any way. Assuming you're from Louisville, KY, this will apply to you.

But refs are, for the most part, very blind to these things. And as long as it isn't directly noticeable you'll be fine.

i would just use a little part of the glove and sew it on so theres grip but not on the whole palm

the gloves would be way too grippy, you can feel that just from putting the football gloves on and playing with your stick, the palms on football gloves, especially the cutters are very thin, and rip easily. a football glove cant come close to taking the punishment the lacrosse palm can.
