i need to buy a new rim for my bike and i have a pretty stupid question but im not sure of it. whats the difference between a 36h and a 48h? is the 48h just stronger, and can either size fit on any bike? thanks....

h = holes = # of spokes
If you are rebuilding the wheel, then you need to buy a rim with the same number of spokes to match the wheel hub.
# spokes has no bearing on fitting the bike, it is the diameter and rim width.
Anything above 36h is simply for looks and makes the wheels heavy.48 and 60h rims are usually for cruiser bikes
