injuries, best of the worst

ok so this is for all the goalies. wat are your worst injuries. we all run out of the crease or get caught on a clear at some point. or maybe the ball hit somewhere that caused some extreme pain. this is a thread for these. my only good injury that i have from goalie is fro all in one game. i blocked a shot with my helmet and the helmet left a red line across my forehead for a few days and trying to make and offside save the ball snuck up under my cp and got me right below the collarbone. nm ik but i try not to get hit.

broke my thumb in my second highschool game, played the rest of the season and 5 box games with it.

dislocated my right shoulder from getting hit with a shot.....played the second half with it all screwed up

I never notice the pain in a game until the quarter or game ends. When I having an adrenaline rush, I don't feel anything at all really. I've gotten hit in the shin, my elbow two shots in a row (a few days after I got my cast off) and taken a couple dead on the cup. The cup and shin didn't hurt too much, but the elbows were killer. So I've never really gotten a bad injury playing goal though.

i got drilled from straight on the crease by this huge, amazingly good atackman right on the calf. then it like constricted and i couldnt flex it for 2 days

took a shot off the inside of my foot foot was numb for 2-3 days then got feeling back. didnt realized it casue of adremilne rush until the game was over.

i died.........thats funny. i have never had a bad injury just bruises and stuff. but a friend of mine got skimmed with a ball. and it was so hot from the firction he put water on it, to cool it off and it sizzled. that was pretty crazy

nothing major....yet....just bruises altho i had this really big bruise on my thigh the size of a lax ball and it changed colors like everyother day it was pretty funny

i broke my lower back. i went to clear the ball, faked a overhand pass then threw it underhand, as i went underhand , by back twisted and it fractured my L2 L3 vertabrae

I broke my thumb mid way through the season two years ago, and then played out the rest of the season. The thumb is down bent.

well my funniest was i had the w from the warrior logo on my my shin, and another one was i had what looked like a fist under my arm

My goalie told me the absolute worst pain you can feel is a shot that hits or skims the ribs. Talk about hurt.

no real serious injuries just one time a got hit in the thigh like halkf on the knee and half on the thigh muscle right above it...and the area swelled up and i mustve gotten a hematoma or something because the muscle area was so swollen it sagged over the top part of my knee ca and it a good protion of my thigh/knee was all like green and blue and yello and other colors it sholdnt have been turbing...kinda hurt too

I have never had a bad injury, just bad bruises. The worst was when I took a shot right to my thigh and I wasn't wearing goalie pants. It doesn't sound bad but the bruise went from about mid thigh to just above my knee and it changed colours every day.

The worst and probably most painful injury I have ever seen was when the goalies throat guard didnt go down to where his throat was and he took a shot right to his throat. He was on the ground for about 5 minutes and then got right back up and carried on playing. After the match his throat was heavily bruised and swolen.

I broke my wrist and thumb in the second game of the season from a shot that hit dead on my thumb so hard it broke two bones in my wrist.
I played with it for 12 more games in a cast. But the got body slamed by this freakishly tall middie on a clear and i fell on it and he landed on me.
I had to have two surgery's to repair the re-brake to my thumb and the brake to my hand. Left a nasty scar and it cost me the rest of the season.


Other than that ive had some sick bruises

I took an 81 mph shot to my groin. I was in net, and we were clocking shots and well... it went right above my cup right below my CP. Hit me straight in the groin. It was purple for 3 days. My new nick-name is purple-steel lol.

In the only game in the 2007 season that I was hit in the cup, I was hit there 3 times in a row.

during summer league i ate a shot from brad ross, everyone was shooting high and i was in his shooting lane and since everyone was shooting high that day i decided to duck
1.i was slow on the duck
2.the shot went low
so i ended up ducking too late and took the shot into my inner thigh and hit my cup too, felt like i got my leg shot off. worst dead leg EVER
im actually a middie but i took one like a goalie that day

I got peged in the calf by this dude that shot like 85+, and i don't have goalie pants.

haha in camp one year i took a shot that was like 70-80 MPH straight in the cup...then like 3 days later i forgot to wear my cup and scotty rogers, the backup goalie for Notre Dame ripped one right at my balls and they called my parents and i went home...still have both nuts by the way hahah
