Im torn between getting soccer cleats or football cleats. If you're wearing soccer cleats does it hurt more if you get hit in the foot region (toes, ankle, etc.)? I dont know how much more difference in padding there is between the two so if anyone who wears soccer cleats can shed some light on it that would be great.

I wore soccer cleats bu teverytime I got hit in the ankle the would get bruised and swollen, so I swithced to football cleats for more support and better ankle protection.

basically, if you need ankle/foot protection get football cleats. If you rarely get hit on the foot/ankle then get whatever cleats you want. I personally use a cheap pair of Puma's but also make a lot of foot saves, call me crazy

cuz lacrosse goalies are a pretty small market
If you want a padded cleat try linemen football ones
they just recently made lax cleats, and i don't think tons of people would switch
I use vapor jet TDs and they seem great for goalie, they also have some molding over the toe thats nice

i use soccer turf shoes, getting hit in the foot wasn't too bad, but if you just dont want to ever worry about it get those metal plate things that baseball catchers have that tie onto their cleats.

In my experience the soccer cleats have almost no protection in the foot area. After a shot my feet would get all bruised and swollen and I had a nasty black and blue bruise on both of my big toes.

A football shoe should the trick. My 30$ football cleat has a thick rubber pad on the toes. As for me , getting hit in the foot vs the hands, the getting hit in the hands hurts 10x more than getting hit on my feet.
How do you get hit int he ankle with a shoe on???

in indoor i used nike skateboarding shoes, and got hit in the foot from a crank and it hurt like it felt like an extreme case of my foot being asleep but soccer cleats have less protection but more mobility, football more protection less mobility but i use football cleats
try the nike super speed 3/4

The more expensive the soccer cleat, the less protective it will be. My turf shoes last year were $40 soccer cleats, and those worked fine. But the expensive ones are so thin for weight concerns, they have no protection.

I use soccer cleats because for the most part they are lighter and if you do get hit in the foot that lets you remember for next time "that hurt maybe ill stop it with my stick instead."
