I got a job stringing about a month ago at my coaches lax store, and it made me wonder who else here on TLF strings for a store. Post what store you work at, how long you've worked there, and what you string. If anyone wants to, feel free to post pics of your stringjobs.
I'll go first>>
Where>> Cheshire Sport Center, CT
For how long>> about a month
what you string>> mesh and trad/customs

I'm with you on that one man even though i'm located in MD there are zero job openings or lax stores that are willing to hire competent stringers around here its lame. I could actually use a decent amount of cash flow too and i would actually enjoy the job.

but as for what i can do everything cept for intricate dyes im still working on my latest

southern westchester lacrosse in tuckahoe, ny. most people just refer to us as sowest lax. its awesome workin there, great benefits and ive seen most of the 08 stuff already and went through the ordering process with adidas and rbk for their stuff, which is sick.

i do everything from a mesh job to a custom dye job....the guy hired me in a heartbeat when he saw my x2 with a heat pocket.

i get around 10 an hour for now, dont get paid for individual string jobs. in the winter the rate goes up to 11 or 12 an hour. during the season itll be 11 or 12 and i do get 1/2 of the string job, which is 30 or 40 depending on if its mesh or trad.

technically i don't string for a store, but DaStringer and I own our own little business stringing. it's not doing so well now in the offseason, but we pulled in almost $500 last spring.

I was going to string at the Sling It! Lacrosse in Alamo, but they didn't need me at the moment.

I might work for Total Sports in Livermore, so I could possibly string for them too.

I have two questions for you guys. When you applied for the job did you have to show the person interviewing you dome recent work? or did he just like ask you and see if you knew about stringing? Also do guys string there at the store or bring some heads home with you to string?

Fudd Lacrosse Ocean City, NJ.
No per head pay.
Just an hourly rate of 8.00
I do pretty much anything, and everything.
Also string over the internet, and on ebay. Made a couple hundred on that in the spring, christmas.
I got the job last February. The guy opened the store overnight, and the next day I walked in after a game, smelling like piss, and looking all messy, and I started the next day. Sort of a supply and demand job, seeing as I was the only person who strung sticks half decently, and knew about lacrosse within like a 30 mile radius. Probably the best job ever.

Man I wish I lived near a lax store. Not only to string for $$$ but also to just have the convenience of having a store around to see new stuff etc. I would definitely work there if I had the opportunity.

i've been stringing for over 3 years now, and i string everything. mesh, customs, goalie, but i prefer good old mesh.

i like stringing for people on my own, not through a store. if i charge my friends or
teammates like 10 bucks for a job( basic job), thats better than having to go to work for it.

You are pretty lucky. Minimum wage here is like 5.75 or something like that. 7.15 is really decent here.

Really? I live in Vegas, and I didn't think Sling It! hired many people. I guess if you just did stringing Neil and Woody might need someone. That's pretty sick though. I'm not good enough at stringing to even ask if I could have the job, although my coach works there and is a close friend of Neil

dalax - most of those guys don't really string for Great Atlantic. They just do soft mesh pockets for heads in the closeout/sale section and don't get paid much. There are two main guys who string all the custom stuff and they've been doing it for years
