Hey guys, I strung a helix awhile ago with a mid pocket, using 8d mesh, 1 weaved shooter over a rolled one and I get pretty bad whip when shooting but it throws great and has really good hold, but when I shoot it usually hits the ground, and I need less whip on it. Should I take out the weaved and add a rolled shooter or what?

Weave Three shooters straight, this will take away most of the whip

When I string my sticks, I use three straight weaved shooting strings and one U shooting string about four diamonds across. Try to get the first one as high up in the mesh as you can, and attach it to the head by putting it through a sidewall hole. Also make sure it is really tight. After that, keep the other ones loose. It helps to pretend the mesh is a ramp, and the shooting strings are helping the ball release from the ramp. This helps me get smooth release, but I use about a three or four on the whip scale.

that almost guarentees no whip.

try out a triangle topstring if LIP is your problem.
