I was wondering if anyone knew of any box lacrosse leagues or pick up games that are going on between the Marco,Naples,Fort Myers and Estero area? I have never played box and I want to try it out.

I suggest looking for indoor leagues, much like field except played on an indoor soccer field. Box is def' something you'll only find in occasion I believe or as you work your way north. Just google it or see if your local field league has links leading to an indoor league.

I haven't heard anything at all about box in south Florida but...

I think there are a handful of legit box leagues/tournaments in central Florida, more in the Orlando area. All I really know is that Lacrossewear sponsors a major true box (or as close as you can get to real box around here) tourney sometime in the summer. I also imagine there may be more options to play box in Florida with the move of the NLL's Titans from New York to Orlando.

Here in Jacksonville we have a local indoor sports facility that during the summer offers a pick up box league that's pretty similar to real box only it's played on artificial turf and I'm pretty sure cross-checking isn't really allowed/is highly discouraged. I never signed up for it, but heard it was a ton of fun and pretty similar to real box. Not this "indoor field" stuff.

And as Kronos said, you'll be more likely to find "indoor field" leagues rather than box. Just ask other laxers in your area if there's anything and if not you could try to set up some sort of box league in your area with the help of others.
